As part of its efforts to resolve disputes over agricultural lands located within Najma and Qayyarah oil fields in Mosul Governorate, the Public Aid Organization conducted mediation session in Baghdad on February 2, 2023. Where Public Aid Organization/POA invited the most related authorities and local authorities in Mosul : Al-Qayyarah district Mayor, Director of Community Police, head of a tribe, a cleric, agriculture division officer, Mosul governor`s assistant for service affairs, North Oil Company representatives, Prime Minister’s advisor and the Iraqi Parliament, Iraqi judiciary advisors, Ministry of Interior representatives, specialized in the field of the dispute in order to resolve property disputes between people of Al-Qayyarah and the Company that invests and operates in the area. the session set out recommendations that will be presented to the Prime Minister Office to come up with satisfactory solutions for Al-Qayyarah people. The session was held under the project of ” Empowering and Engaging Community Mechanisms with the Local Authorities to Promote Social Cohesion” that funded by UNDP and Implemented by PAO.
